    Bibliometric Analysis of Paternalistic Leadership

    The study presents a bibliometric analysis of 520 publications found through a Web of Science database search to identify trends and developments in the academic literature on paternalistic leadership. It is also expected that the study will identify existing gaps in the “paternalistic leadership” literature, where the frequency of study tends to increase after 2018, and potential opportunities for future research. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that the highest number of citations in the publications reached in the field of paternalistic leadership was in 2022, and the most frequently used keywords were “paternalistic leadership” and “authoritarian leadership”. In addition, it was determined that the country that conducted the most studies and had the highest citation score was Peoples R China. According to the findings of the analysis, it was concluded that Cheng Bs is the researcher with the highest number of publications and citations in this field. The study is expected to contribute by raising awareness for researchers who want to study leadership literature in the field of management.

    Sürdürülebilirlik Bağlamında Dijital Miras Kavramı

    Yaşanan teknolojik gelişmelerle birlikte internetin, günlük yaşamın vazgeçilmez bir unsuru olması geride bıraktığımız ayak izlerini giderek dijitalleştirmektedir. Bu bağlamda, öldüğümüzde “Dijital varlıklarımıza ne olacak?” sorusu giderek daha önemli hale gelmektedir. Dijital varlıkların yönetimi ile anlamlılık kazanan bu konu, dijital miras kavramını ortaya çıkarmıştır. Özellikle yerli yazında çok az çalışılmış olan, uluslararası yazında ise hukuki, tarihsel boyutu ile ağırlıklı yer bulmuş olan dijital miras kavramını incelemek alan yazına katkı sunmak açısından önem arz etmektedir. Dijital miras, dijitalleşmenin bir sonucu olarak hayatımıza giren, dijital ortamda somut ve soyut malvarlıklarının (alan adları, sosyal medya hesapları vb.), kişinin ölümünden sonra saklanması, depolanması, varislere devrini de içeren bir kavramdır. Dijital miras konusunun anlaşılır kılınması için, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden ikincil kaynak taraması yapılarak konuya yönelik farkındalık oluşturmak araştırmanın birincil amacıdır. Ayrıca dijital miras kavramını sürdürülebilirlik yönetimi bağlamında ele alarak stratejik yönetime dair birtakım çıkarımlarda bulunmak, bu alanda çalışmak isteyen akademisyenlere de yol gösterici olmak amaçlanmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre, sürdürülebilir dijital miras konusunun ulusal ve uluslararası alan yazında bu bağlamda ele alınmadığı, dijital mirasa yönelik ulusal yazında oldukça az çalışma olduğu, yapılan çalışmaların odak noktasının yasal düzenlemelere yönelik olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

    Global ve Yerel Enerji Şirketlerinin Vizyon İfadelerinin İncelenmesi

    Çalışma ile global ve yerel en başarılı enerji şirketlerinin (Fortune Global 500 ve ISO 500 sıralamasına göre) vizyon bildirileri içerik özellikleri ve aralarında fark olup olmaması bakımından analiz edilerek, vizyon bildirileri ile hangi özelliklerin/kelimelerin vurgulandığının belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemi nitel araştırma yöntemlerinde sıklıkla kullanılan ölçüt örnekleme tekniğine göre belirlenmiştir. Fortune Global 500 ve Uluslararası Standartlar Teşkilatı 500, 2022 web sayfalarında (8-10 ocak tarihleri arasında) en başarılı olarak sıralanan enerji şirketlerinden ilk on altısı araştırmaya dahil edilmiştir. Vizyon bildirileri betimsel nitel içerik analizi ile incelenmiş, temalar altında değerlendirilmiş, sıklıkla kullanılan kelimeler Maxqda 2022 nitel veri analiz programı yardımı ile tespit edilmiş ve görselleştirilmiştir. Ayrıca vizyon bildirileri Kantabutra (2008)’in sınıflandırmış olduğu bileşenlere sahip olup/olunmaması açısından da değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma sonucuna göre global şirket vizyon temaları; “sürdürülebilirlik ve çevresel sorumluluk”, “müşteri odaklılık ve kalite”, “inovasyon ve teknoloji liderliği” olarak, yerel şirket vizyon temaları ise “liderlik ve örnek olma”,”yenilik ve teknoloji odaklılık” olarak bulgulanmıştır. Kantabutra (2018) vizyon bileşenlerine göre; yerel ve global şirketlerin vizyon beyanları karşılaştırıldığında ise; her ikisinde de en çok yer alan vizyon bileşeninin “netlik” olduğu saptanmıştır. Vizyon bildirilerinde en çok tekrarlanan kelimenin ise araştırma için seçilen sektör olduğundan “enerji” kelimesi olduğu izlenmiştir. Sonuç olarak, bu araştırma enerji sektöründeki şirketlerin vizyonlarını anlamak ve karşılaştırmak için değerli bir katkı sağlamaktadır. Şirketlerin stratejik hedeflerini belirleme ve çalışanlarını motive etme konusundaki yaklaşımlarını anlamak için bu tür çalışmaların farkındalık yaratması beklenmektedir.

    Social Networks in the Jewelry Industry: A Qualitative Research on Ethnic/Minority Entrepreneurs in Turki̇ye

    The study aims to reveal how minority entrepreneurs benefit from social networks and the role of social networks in the jewelry sector, which is considered one of the sectors where the use of social networks can be easily detected, where ethnic and minority entrepreneurs are clustered in Istanbul province, in Türkiye. In this context, phenomenology design was used as a qualitative research method, and the research data was collected through individual face-to-face in-depth interviews with a pre-prepared semi-structured questionnaire with 24 minority entrepreneurs registered with the Istanbul Chamber of Jewelers (IKO) and the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce Jewelry Committee (ITO). Descriptive and coding-based qualitative content analysis was used to analyze the data. MAXQDA qualitative data analysis program was used to visualize the data. As a result of the study, minority entrepreneurs in the jewelry sector benefit heavily from their social networks (especially their co-ethnic group) to access resources. Within the framework of the unique structure of the jewelry sector and the internal dynamics of minorities, the impact of the concept of "master" on the social networks of entrepreneurs in addition to family friends, who are among their strong and close networks, was also observed. The study is expected to contribute to the field by offering suggestions, as it is the only study that addresses the concept of "master" in the sectors of the creative industries and brings the concept to the literature.

    Sustainable Turkish SMEs: Achallenges and Opportunities in Adopting Green Competitive Strategies

    This study investigates the necessity for Turkish small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to develop green competitive advantages and the challenges they face in this process. It examines how SMEs adopt and implement green competition strategies in light of proactive and reactive environmental strategies. The research was conducted using a case study approach, with data collected through interviews and observations with six SMEs from various sectors in T & uuml;rkiye. The findings reveal that while most SMEs are willing to adopt green competition strategies, they face difficulties such as lack of financial and technical resources, integrating green strategies into their core business, and complying with local and global legislation. This study provides valuable insights for policymakers, academics, and practitioners interested in promoting sustainable practices among SMEs.

    Perceptions and Expectations of International and Ethnically Diverse Students in the Context of Diversity Management Policy Document in a Turkish Foundation University

    The aim of this study is to analyse the effects of having policy documents regarding diversity management on students’ perceptions in higher education context. The study was carried out with 25 international students and students with different ethnic backgrounds who have been studying in various undergraduate and associate degree programs of a Turkish foundation university. The data were gathered via open-ended questions and phenomenology method. The data were applied using the qualitative content analysis approach. Based on the analysis of the data, noticeable themes have been reached regarding the students’ perceptions of the university’s diversity management policies and the academic satisfaction they get in the provided learning atmosphere during their time on and off campus. The themes and their sub-themes are as follows: The theme “the presence of the university to provide an inclusive educational atmosphere in the availability of students from different countries and ethnic backgrounds” include the significance of policy documents of the higher education institution, the necessity of an international campus and awareness raising and networking events, the theme “expectations to increase satisfaction about academic processes” includes the sub-themes of academic material support, learn by doing (allocation of more time for internship), more interaction with the academic staff, qualifications of the academic staff and sensitivity to individual learner types and learner backgrounds, the theme “expectations to create an international campus with a successful diversity management among students” includes attracting more students from different regions of the world, communication frameworks among students and graduates, high frequency of extra-curricular activities.

    The Experiences of New-Starters: Remote Working in The Post-COVID-19 Era

    This study aimed to understand the experiences of information technology sector employees who started their first job using remote working. A semi-structured interview, one of the qualitative research designs, was used. Twenty-four interviews were conducted to understand the effects of the advantages and disadvantages perceived by the employees regarding the remote working method on their life and career aspects. Two prominent and five sub-themes emerged in this research. The main themes regarding the perceptions of those who start their business life within the scope of remote work and the advantages/disadvantages of working remotely are the sub-themes: perceptions of their managers, career life, corporate culture, work-life balance, and learning processes.

    Ethical Leadership, Organizational Culture, and Intrapreneurship: A Study in the Banking Sector

    The purpose of this research is to measure the perceptions of bank sector employees regarding ethical leadership, intrapreneurship, and organizational culture, and to examine the relationship between these variables. The cross-sectional survey method was utilized for data collection and analysis, employing quantitative research methods. For this purpose, data collected through surveys from 395 bank personnel using convenience sampling method were evaluated through statistical analyses. The findings indicate a significant positive relationship among bank employees between ethical leadership, organizational culture, and intrapreneurial behavior. It was found that organizational culture has a higher explanatory power for intrapreneurship than the perception of ethical leadership, while ethical leadership has a higher explanatory power for organizational culture. This study provides a significant contribution to understanding the dynamic relationship between ethical leadership, intrapreneurship, and organizational culture. This understanding can guide managers and researchers in leadership strategies and organizational culture development practices. The rarity and significance of this study are underscored by the lack of previous research simultaneously addressing the relationship between ethical leadership, intrapreneurship, and organizational culture in the banking sector, thus indicating its potential to contribute to the academic literature in this field.

    Digital Footprint Management: Digital Burial

    This study aims to examine digital footprint management and digital footprint awareness and deals with this question by focusing on the concept of digital burial: What will happen to our digital data after death? Digital footprint management is a new term and has found a narrow area in the literature on management science. This study is an attempt to raise awareness of this concept. It employs the review of secondary sources as one of qualitative research methods. In addition, it examines various studies under the scope of secondary literature review and then they are subjected to word cloud analysis by taking their keywords to determine focal points of publications conducted in the field of digital footprint with the assistance of program MAXQDA 2022. According to its findings, the correct and effective use of digital footprints is a requirement of digital citizenship. The subject of digital burial, discussed in the context of digital footprint management is a fairly new concept in the literature and this situation is the most important limitation of this study. It expects to draw a theoretical framework for future research and to guide other academicians who wish to work in this field.

    Bibliometric Analysis of The Concept of "Organizational Differences" Using Visual Mapping Technique

    In this study, it is aimed to perform a bibliometric analysis of the research related to the concept of organizational differences and to make inferences about the general structure of the field. In this direction, in the research, 303 scientific publications on "organizational differences" were examined with the bibliometric analysis method using the Web of Science database, and then the obtained data were visualized using the VOSviewer software program. Bibliometric methods such as keyword analysis, citation analysis, co-author analysis, co-citation analysis of authors were used on the identified scientific publications. Using bibliometric methods, a comprehensive view of the dynamics of the field is presented; the development of the literature on the concept of "organizational differences" has been mapped by determining the basic studies, types, years, authors, countries and publication areas. As a result of the study, it was found that the subject of "organizational differences" was not studied sufficiently in the literature; the most publications on a country basis were from America, the most publications on a year basis were published in 2019, and the most commonly cited author was Alstemark B. It is thought that the findings obtained as a result of the analysis will provide resources for future studies on "organizational differences".
